ABOUT ME

FORM-AND-surface

Sheridan College, 2013

“I came from Mexico City to study in Canada. I have been always surrounded by an ancient ceramic tradition. Currently I am interested in the mythologies and the hybrid traditions of my Country. I want to examine multicultural narratives and universal symbolism to better understand the links between different human civilizations.

My recent work attempts to understand the way colonialism has transformed contemporary nations. I am exploring the myths and beliefs that make possible the integration of external ideas and technology. I am excited about the results and transcendence of these cultural exchanges between contemporary countries and how to communicate it.

The way I understand the creative process encourages me to explore multiple techniques and concepts so that I may contribute within the artistic field as a ceramicist.”
